Thematic Maps:

Thematic maps are those which display a particular set of data, in other words they have a theme. There are many different types of thematic maps, we will show a few examples.

Choropleth Map:

A choropleth map uses color to display data, in this example we have a choropleth map that shows the countries in Australia.

Isarithmic Map:

An isarithmic map uses lines to show continuous data. Our example of an isarithmic map shows average evaporation levels.

Dot Distribution Map:

A dot distribution map uses dots to depict a particular set of data. In our example we show the population of Australia where one dot is equal to one thousand people.
